Project objectives

• Prevent fires from reaching the forest;
• Plant strategic tree species along gaps in vegetation to prevent fires (also known as firebreaks);
• Reduce the risk of lemur extinction due to habitat loss by extending a network of firebreaks that will link isolated forest fragments to the main body of the Ivohiboro forest.
