Protecting the Habitat of Madame Berthe’s Mouse Lemur within the Menabe Antimena Protected Area

Project results

  • Raise awareness of the Protected Area and its Lemur species for locals and newcomers through constant information, while strengthening local species monitoring to know the exact number of populations in the territory;
  • Restore minimum of 50 hectares of forest in the core Protected Areas and decrease the number of fire points compared to 2017 and 2018;
  • Gather crucial information on three Lemurs species: Madame Berthe’s Mouse Lemur, Coquerel’s Giant Mouse Lemur and Verreaux’s Sifaka.
