Project objectives
This research project’s objectives are to establish the conservation status of the two target species, conduct surveys to assess their distribution and abundance, and develop a conservation education and awareness program targeted at local communities in the Shimba Hills region in Kenya.
Threats
Habitat loss & degradation
Field sampling carried out as part of this project will contribute to the conservation of these two species by providing important information on their ecology and population size both in protected and unprotected habitats, aided by a conservation education program that will raise awareness of the importance of conserving these species and their habitat.
This research project is implemented by Thomas Nyaranga, Kenyatta University.
