Project objectives
This project will undertake various actions to help secure the future of the Saint Lucia racer and Saint Lucia whiptail, including improving the knowledge of the status of the populations of both species on Maria Major; generating genetic knowledge of both species to inform population management; improve people’s knowledge, understanding and perception of snakes to ensure support for snake conservation in Saint Lucia and ensure effective biosecurity for all four offshore islands.
